Terra Fera World Map
The Continents
(Note: This is a WIP. Eventually I'll update the map above with all country and continent names properly marked)
Lossuri: (lohs-ur-eye) What I've been calling the "main continent" for a long time. (2-7) Name means "rock of peace" in the Ancient Tongue. Is actually two sub continents, one in the north, and the other in the south.

The Countries
Colors Correspond to Territories of Countries!*
Purple: Independent countries/nations/territories (i.e. not part of a larger whole)
Green: Niana and territories
Orange: Capareon Imperial Territories
Blue: Tallez and minor Talleon provinces
Brown: Unexplored/undiscovered/frontier
*Or former territories.
Numbers Correspond to Countries/Nations
1. The Frozen North aka the Far North
A frozen tundra, this landmass has never completely been owned by a nation or country of Terra Fera. There are independent settlements scattered on the southern coast, but each are settlements of other countries and nation.
2. The Capareon Imperial Empire, aka Capareon
Likely one of the strongest nations in TF, it's named for the old Wolflord Nation, Cariponi(pronounced "careye-pawn-eye"meaning "central" in the Ancient Tongue. Despite it's actual position on a map, it was the central location of TF's major civilizations for thousands of years. For wolves, it's the territory of the White Moon Tribe. For Great Lions, it was the origin point for most of their culture. And for humans, it was the home of many great kingdoms that rose and fell. Around the year 500 of the 8th Age, the various small nations united under one flag to drive off the invading Nians(which is the next country I'm going to cover here). Most, if not all of SSC takes place in Capareon.
3. Northern Niana
Named after the Ancient Tongue word for "lumber", although an actual nation has not always called this land home, the small clans and tribes have always called themselves "Nians". Niana was long a heavily forested, small nation, but when times started to change, the clans that called Niana home did too. They formed their own nation, built proper towns and cities, and began to become conquers of Terra Fera. Many smaller countries put up little resistance against the Nians, but others, the eventual Capareon particularly, did not want to be ruled by outsiders like the Nians. Eventually, a war broke out, and it nearly ended quite badly for the Nians, having underestimated the new Capareon Empire. Niana only survived as a nation by signing a treaty with Capareon, and they lost nearly half their territory due to it.
4. Liahetur
A small central country, name coming from the Ancient Tongue words for "land" and "light", meaning "land of light". Allies to, but not a territory/province of the Capareon Empire. (Not much else to say.)
5. Southern Niana
Around the year 1000 in the 8th Age, a rebellion was started by the people of Niana in the southern part of the country. Eventually, Northern Niana recognized and accepted Southern Niana as separate country. In the more modern times, they are still separate countries, but allies.
6. Parmoae
A fairly wild, untamed frontier, Parmoae(meaning "dark forest") is a recent nation, and considered the furthest south country on the main continent.
7. The Far South
A land that has long been considered untamable by man, this is a land beasts rule over as the sole kings. In RotD, it is home to at least 80% of TF's Great Lion population, a large percentage of the dragons and dragon-like species, and many more creatures. Few, if any, human settlements have ever existed here. Among the humans of TF, the land is considered cursed, and all who enter are never seen of again. Basically a sort of Bermuda Triangle for TF XD
8. ???
One of two nations that call the large island home, it was once a province of Niana, till it was abandoned. The native people eventually took control back. The long, thin island to the north is considered part of this country.
9. ??
Pretty much same story as the northern nation on the island. This southern nation was started by the native people who lived on the southern part of the island.
10. ??
A medium sized island nation, it has long been an independent country, rarely if ever under control of another nation.
11. ??
12. ??
13. ??
A larger, mostly uninhabited country.
14. ??
Larger in population then (Insert Name Here) to its north, it is still considered a fairly small country. Not a particularly powerful one either, and eventually is just a province of Capareon. It wasn't exactly an invasion when Capareon took over, and there was little to no resistance. Capareon took it over as to have an eastern entry point into Niana, even if they are separated by an ocean.
15. Dez'Saryah
16. ???
17. ???
18. Tallez
Once much larger, and previously the only true nation on the western continent, after the Capareon Empire tried to conquer the vast majority of TF's known world, the Tallezeons were not so willing to just be part of the empire. A stubborn people, the Tallezeons also knew how to fight better in the cold swamps as well as the temperate plains that make up pretty much the whole country, and so they fought against the invading Capareons. Using everything they had, they pushed the Capareons out, and the Capareon Empire eventually settled with the surrounding territories. Since then, an uneasy alliance has been kept between the two.

28. Mi-Pari
A smaller continent and nation, it is home to tropical rain forests mainly. Within these rain forests live several races of native fae(fae-folk/fairies/whatever you want to call them), and many other magical creatures. It is very much a peaceful, and magical land.
The name literally is the Ancient Tongue words for rain forest.
29. Kakarmn
A country with a temperate climate, it is known as Kakarmn to the natives(namely fae races, like Mi-Pari). Like Mi-Pari, it is a fairly wild and primitive land.

Pretty much all my maps are WIPs!
Northern Niana
Northern Niana is divided up into clans. Each clan is it's own independent province, though still part of the whole the country.
Nipari Capitol: Utur. A large city and considered one of the centers of Nian culture. This city is home to the Nipari king's palace, the center of the Nipari government, and many majestic temples, with Utura's Grand Temple being at the center of the city with a massive tree that blooms growing in the courtyard of the temple. Utur is named after the goddess Utura, or Nature. Hakon's Helm: A large city and territory belonging to the Hakkonsson line of Jarls, a family long closely connected to the Nipari throne. A major center of trade for the region. Also home to a darker part of Nian culture, Hakon's Helm has one of the most successful fighting arenas, where warriors for ages have come to prove their strength in bloody fights to the death against other warriors or wild beasts. Prisoners were often allowed to fight in the arena as a way of winning their freedom. Lake Nipari: One of the largest lakes on Lossuri, and the largest in Northern Niana, it's banks are littered with small fishing villages, where the people make their living on the water. Draken Tooth Mountains: One of the smallest mountain ranges in Niana, these mountains are also relatively shorter than most other Nian peaks. These mountains are home to mountain shepherds who live in nomadic family groups, and also a famous monastery, where Temple Drakes(aka Thorn Tails, or Nian Grand Drakes) are raised. |
Berkyto:
Capitol: Thormly, a name that's a shows the Nian mixture of Norse and Terra Fera's Ancient culture well, meaning "Thor's Storm". Thormly is a large citadel, surrounded by a massive port city. It is a major trade stop between Northern and Southern Niana, and the island nations to the southeast. It has been the center of shipbuilding for all of Northern Niana for thousands of years, and is also considered the oldest Nian city or settlement, the Nians believing this is where their shipwrecked ancestors first came to Niana. The city itself is very old and ancient, with some Wolflord architecture, namely the temple to Thor, or Lytos as he is known elsewhere and in the original lore, the god of storms, lightning, and thunder, whom the Nians Norse ancestors blended with their own god of such. He is the favored deity of the entire region, and many Berkyto citizens make it a point to visit his temple in Thormly at least once in their life.
Mlymor: "Cold Storm". Once just a small fishing village, now a bustling city. (Don't have much to say about it yet. Will add more later!)
Argipari: "(The) Forest of Tears". A city surrounded by wild forests on all sides, in the legends, this was said to be the birth place of Hadvardr's, the god of night, daughter, Sorrow, who's mortal, human mother died giving birth to her. It says no one had ever truly felt such grief and sadness before then as Hadvardr, and so his daughter was named Sorrow, and his tears became streams in the forests. A temple to him and his sons, Magic and Truth, is here, as well as a shine to Sorrow that can be found just outside the city. The city, however, is also called the "Forest of Tears" for a darker part of its history. Like Hakon's Helm of Nipari, it is home to a grand fighting arena.

Mi-Pari
Names of villages are still in progress, as are the names of the Tellia clans.
Mi-Pari is roughly half the size of Australia, for a real world comparison. The villages I've placed are very wide spread for the most part.
Color Key:
Brown/tan- highlands. This area is also mostly jungle, though near the edges, rocky land.
Darker Green- Jungle/Rain Forest
Light Green- Grasslands. In the wet season, these turn into flooded marshland.
Blue Lines- rivers (Didn't bother with streams)
Dark Brown- Mountains (kinda obvious)
1. Eagle's Rest village
An older village, it is one of four belonging to the Highlands Clan. It is the home village of the character, Silent Whisper(who will get his own story).
2. ??
Central village of the Highlands Clan.
3. ??
Third village of the Highlands Clan.
4. ??
I actually forgot to add 4 XD
5-7. ??
Old, abandoned Tellia villages. Was abandoned when the clan was starting to be wiped out by sickness and famine, and the villages were being reclaimed by Nature. The surviving members of the clan sought refuge with another clan, where they were told they were welcomed to stay or to take ships and leave Mi-Pari to seek a new home. Some chose to stay, others chose to leave. Three out of the five ships that left Mi-Pari carrying the refugees shipwrecked off the shore of what would later be known as Capareon, then called by it's original name, Cariponi. Few survived the shipwreck, and the lucky few who did were left in a land far different, and colder than their homeland. Some adapted, due to the help of people (wolflords, shifters, and various fae races mostly) of Cariponi, who were very welcoming to the shipwrecked refugees. The surviving two ships made it to a land south of what would one day be Tallez, in the rain forests of the countries south of there. They would soon find they weren't the only Tellia there, as it had been inhabited by Tellia for thousands of years, but these Tellia lived in warrior clans, and had a much different way of life. Still, the refugees who made it here instead, also adapted, and were accepted into the culture of the native Tellia.
These villages were later reclaimed by other fae, who live there now.
