Basic Terms
TF's magics come in a variety of forms. To simplify things, here's a list of terms and types of magics:
- Magic: Power from an unknown/mysterious source or energy.
- Sorcery: Typically the use of more benign magics, or at least magics that aren't outlawed or considered dark magics. Examples: healing magics, defensive magics, nature magics.
- Witchcraft: The use of dark magics, or use of magics with dark intentions. Examples: magics that involve tel/kei(tel: humanoids/people, kei: beast races) sacrifices, mind manipulation(depends on the case), Shadow magics(not actually evil itself, but often can be used for such intentions).
- Elemental Magics: Magics involving the four elements: water, wind/air, fire, and earth.
- Elemental Affinity: When someone has an affinity or aptitude towards an element and its magics.
- Sage: A healer who uses magics.
- Mage/Sorcerer/Sorceress: Users of magics in general, that don't use magics defined as witchcraft.
- Witch/Warlock: Users of magics defined as witchcraft and dark magics.
- Seer/Soothsayer: One who can see into the future or past.
- Illusion: When it comes to magics, a spell/power used to alter what is perceived as reality, without actually changing anything.
- Illusionist: One who uses magics to alter the perceived reality, typically a street performer.

Shadow Masters
Shadow Masters are those who use Shadow magics, which pretty much allows them to manipulate shadows, but also allows for twisting of minds. Shadow magic is, well, shrouded in mystery and the truth of it is often lost in its myths, so it is often considered to be dark magic, but in reality in of itself, it has no inclination towards good or evil. Its uses are vast, and its power in the hands of the master.
Spirit Magics
Spirit, or spiritual magics are used by what are called "Spirit Elementals", which includes and mostly consists of Day Dreamers. Primarily, its power source is the Dream Realm, but also allows the user to see through veil between life and death.
Foresight
The ability, by whatever means, to be able to know what is about to happen, or what an individual will do next. Most famously, Day Dreamers have this ability, due to their ability to see memories, even if from just seconds before. It can seem as if those with foresight can read minds, but often times, it has nothing to do with the mind.
Immortal Blade
"Immortal Blades" are weapons of immense magical energy which have been crafted in rather specific forges that were once, at least assumable, built by the ancient Wolflords, or perhaps even by the mysterious and unknown civilization from the 2nd Age. These forges have mostly been destroyed, namely by the Brotherhood, as these weapon are far, far too powerful to let them be common or to fall into the wrong hands. Immortal Blades are very deadly weapons, even if the blade itself were just a butter knife! They more or less act like a poisoned weapon, that the mystical energy kills those who are even just cut slightly by the blade. It is said to be able to kill anything that walks the mortal realm, and an Immortal Blade is said to be what killed the Dark Goddess, Deception.
The forges were said to have been kept burning by the blood of the Great Dragons, and so with their disappearance, many of the forges eventually went cold.
Immortal Blades have a catch though. They are typically forged with a specific individual in mind, and only they or their blood descendants can wield the weapon, otherwise the power of the blade will turn against the wielder, and kill them instead of their intended target. The exception, or rather former exception, was that dragonlords were able to wield them no matter what, since it was in fact the magic of dragons, or rather the magic in their blood, that made these weapons truly powerful. The power in these blades can easily be sense when near them, due to how much power emanates from it, as if it were humming with magic. Even most humans, who are often blissfully unaware of the presence of most magic, can sense something off about these blades.
Throughout TF's history, most of these blades were destroyed, through shattering of the blade, and the shards were often scattered at sea traditionally, as to prevent the blade from being restored. By the time of the events of SSC, roughly less than a dozen are said to exist still intact, three of which are actually seen, and a fourth is mentioned(actually part of a set of three, along with two of the three seen).
Dez is in possession of one three given to three brothers, the last princes of Capareon Great Lion Kingdom(not what it was actually called, just what it is often referred to), two of which she is a direct descendant of. The one in her possession was passed on from her mother's side of the family, through the Golden Sun leaders of Sunpride. Her daughter Bree has the second of the set, given to her by Dez' uncle. The third belongs to one of the last descendants of the third brother(who is mentioned to be around in SSC, but isn't seen). These three are highly decorative daggers, which were mostly meant as ceremonial weapons, symbols of the power of these three brothers, and their father the king, as well as their Kingdom and family in general. They were crafted by a Wolflord Noble by the name of Dotura(who is actually in several stories briefly), who had offended his chief severely, and nearly risked war with the Great Lions for their Tribe.
